If you always thought of Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) as a knight in shining armor, you probably loved his heroic role in the 2007 musical romance Enchanted. And you'll likely be thrilled to know that Disney is working on a sequel.

Deadline reports Disney has tapped writing partners J. David Stem and David N. Weiss (Shrek 2, The Smurfs) to write Enchanted 2 — and that Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) will direct the follow-up.

Now we're all wondering which of the original cast members will return. If you'll remember, the Grey's Anatomy star played Robert, a divorce attorney who falls in love with Giselle, a fairy tale princess from another world, played by Amy Adams.

Meanwhile, Idina Menzel played Robert's real-life fiancée and James Marsden played Giselle's intended prince, while Susan Sarandon was the evil Queen Narcissa.

The movie was a hit with audiences and critics alike, earning three Oscar nominations and $340 million at the box office.

If Patrick joins the project, it will be his first cinematic project since 2011, when he starred in Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Flypaper. But if there's any princely face to appear on a stories-tall silver screen, it's his!
