Remember that time when we spotted Shonda Rhimes, Ellen Pompeo, Kerry Washington, and Viola Davis hanging out together — and when we were instantly jealous of the (fake) living room that hosted 'em? Now we have the context for that Shondaland summit.
As we guessed, the four creative powerhouses were indeed welcoming fans to Shondaland Thursdays — i.e. how all three current shows Shonda oversees will air back-to-back on Thursday nights this fall.
"It feels exciting that we're going to get to offer all the fans these three great shows on one night," Shonda says in the video below. "It's going to be [an] edge-of-your-seat three-hour block of time on Thursday nights."
"Can we get any spoilers?" Ellen asks, taking the words out of our mouths!
"I cannot tell you anything," Shonda responds.
Ellen turns to the camera, talking to us fans: "Welcome to Shondaland." That's right — keeping us fans on the edges of our seats means keeping upcoming plot points under lockdown.
"What do you think is going to blow people away about this Thursday night lineup?" Kerry asks.
"It is very daring," Shonda muses. "If you like great drama, that's where you come."
Adds Ellen: "It's fun, it's exciting, it's a ride."
"Buckle up," Kerry advises newcomer Viola. "Buckle up!"
All three shows premiere on Thursday, September 25, with Grey's Anatomy at 8 p.m. ET, Scandal at 9 p.m., and How to Get Away With Murder at 10 p.m.
