Bunheads Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino Responds to Shonda Rhimes’ Critical Tweet (VIDEO)
Last week (June 11), Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes took a stand against ABC Family’s Bunheads, tweeting about the show’s lack of any minority characters. Now, Bunheads creator (and Gilmore Girls creator) Amy Sherman-Palladino has responded to Shonda’s comments.
Although Amy doesn’t respond directly to the race topic, the showrunner seems to have interpreted Shonda’s comment as an attack on her as a woman.
“I’ve always felt that women, in a general sense, have never supported other women the way they should … I think it’s a shame, but to me, it is what it is,” Amy says. “I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t go after another woman. I, frankly, wouldn’t go after another showrunner.”
Speaking more specifically about Shonda, she also says, “Look, I’m not going to get into a pissing match with Shonda Rhimes, because she has 15,000 shows on the air, and she’s doing just fine for herself.”
Watch the interview below, and tell us what you think in the coments.
Miss Grey’s? Us too. Luckily the show will return to Thursdays at 9 p.m. with all-new episodes in the fall on ABC.
