Despite her McSteamy/baby drama on the show, Little Grey looks to be a very proud and balanced Mama in real life. Chyler Leigh recently dished about the baby talk among the actors on the set of Grey’s Anatomy. With three kids and a husband of her own, Leigh fits right into the mom clique on set. Jessica Capshaw (Dr. Arizona Robbins) is pregnant with her second child, and, while Shonda Rhimes recently tweeted that the pregnancy will not be written into the show, nor will it affect Capshaw's character, Leigh still finds herself bonding with the moms on set. The Grey’s star says, “Jessica Capshaw is going to be a second-time mom. Chandra Wilson has three kids. There are something like 20 kids between all of us. We talk about what things work and don't work." We imagine the ladies sitting around in scrubs with coffee cups staging their own celeb mom version of The View.
Chyler's brood consists of Noah (7), Taelyn (4), and Anniston (16 months). While Noah is the philosopher, sports enthusiast, and all around daddy’s guy, Taelyn is the princess with a flair for the dramatic. “She loves singing and dancing. All things performance, which scares me,” Mom confesses. We find it encouraging that she seems hesitant to be a stagemom. Anniston, the youngest, was the earliest to start speaking, with the other two kids going to speech therapy to encourage their communication skills. “She might be our rocket scientist!" muses Leigh.
She maintains that the secret to keeping her marriage afloat is quality time. She and her husband make sure to spend time alone together out of the house and away from the kids “to refocus about marriage and take time to build each other up.” Staying highly supportive of each other pushes the couple to break the cycle of divorce they both come from and create a change within themselves to keep the family as their number one priority.
Sounds like Chyler could teach Lexie a thing or two about relationships...
