Poor Katherine Heigl. Once the golden girl of Grey's Anatomy-turned-sterling-movie star, Katherine's prospects took a downturn after a few movie missteps and some problematic PR mistakes. Now she wants to return to Grey's, but so far, she hasn't been taken up on the offer. Recently, Vulture asked industry insiders what they think of Katherine's status in Hollywood at the moment, and the answers should make her fans sad.
“I don’t know what her value is anymore,” one exec told Vulture. “She’s uh, ‘less than easy’ to work with.”
That reputation, fair or not, seems to be the basis of Katherine's problem. One rep summed it up what seemed to be the general opinion: "She doesn’t have the value she used to have, and people think she’s incredibly difficult to deal with.”
Still, Shonda and Co. already know how to work with her, right? Or has she burned too many Grey's bridges to return to the show?
One PR expert thinks the latter is more likely. “Once you walk away from a show like that — the way she did — there’s no going back. And to say it that way, ‘I always felt that if they wanted me to come back’…is amazing [chutzpah]."
Our readers are split on whether or not they'd want Izzie to return, even if the show was willing to have Katherine. What do you think: Has Katherine's less than sterling reputation ruined her chances of a Grey's comeback? Weigh in on our Facebook page.
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9 pm ET/PT on ABC.
