If you thought the Grey's Anatomy musical episode (Season 7, Episode 18: “Song Beneath the Song”) would just go away, you were wrong. As we’d reported, several of the Grey’s actors and actresses with the best voices planned a benefit concert, which took place this weekend.

Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) and Eric Dane (Mark Sloan) emceed the event, held at UCLA's Royce Hall on March 18. Of course, this let Sandra and Eric off the hook for singing at the benefit, but we’re honestly a bit confused as to why Eric didn’t show off his pipes. Need we remind you of his uber-sexy inner rock god coming out to play during his verse of "How To Save a Life"? Click here to watch.

Anyway, Eric was a good sport and tried to entertain the crowd with some guitar stylings, and even jokingly passed the Grey's music producer Alexandra Patsavas his "demo." How charming.

As for the set list for the evening, Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt), and Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres) opened with their "Chasing Cars" trio, followed by Chandra, Chyler Leigh (Lexie Grey), and Sarah Drew (April Kepner) doing a soulful trio version of "Wait." Then, Kim Raver (Teddy Altman), James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber),Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), and Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) joined in for "Running on Sunshine" and "How To Save a Life."

A very special encore included Justin bringing out his three daughters for a cover of Peter, Bjorn, and John's "Young Folks." We die. Ingrid Michaelson came out to wrap up the show, and, when the audience asked if another musical ep was in the cards, the cast quipped, "Maybe Season 13!"

That's only five years away, but we’ll wait.

Grey’s Anatomy returns with an all-new episode on Thursday, April 5 at 9 pm ET/PT on ABC.
