Every year, TIME releases a list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World, and this year, Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes made the list with some kind words from her idol Oprah Winfrey!

“Eight years ago, she introduced us to Grey’s Anatomy with an African-American chief of surgery and an Asian character with leading plotlines,” Oprah wrote about Shonda. “Gay, straight, single, divorced, lost, searching — everyone gets a seat at Shonda’s table.”

Now we know why Shonda recently tweeted, “Why I started my day doing the ugly cry.” We’d cry too if Oprah knew we existed!

And it’s true — we love how Grey’s always had such a diverse cast, and how its storylines have been all-inclusive of every type of lifestyle. Did we mention how she’s also a badass showrunner who’s never afraid to speak her mind? Yeah, we love her.

Congratulations, Shonda!
