It appears some Grey's Anatomy fans mistakenly think Season 8 was show's last season. We don't exactly blame them for being confused. The finale (Season 8, Episode 24, "Flight") ended with almost every character set to leave Seattle Grace-Mercy West, and going out with half the cast in mortal peril wouldn't be the craziest way a show has ever ended.

But relax, guys! Grey's was renewed for Season 9. It'll be returning to its Thursday 9 p.m. timeslot this fall, followed by Shonda's juiciest new show, Scandal (which you really should catch up on this summer if you haven't been watching).

So, don't worry. We'll get to see all the excruciating emotional fallout from Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) death in detail. And we expect that Shonda will find a way to keep most of the docs at Seattle Grace-Mercy West after all.
