For all fans of Marxie (that’s Dr. Mark Sloan and Dr. Lexie Grey, of course), Season 8 of Grey’s Anatomy won’t be bringing any good news of a lusty, passionate reunion between the two hot docs.

According to TV Guide, newly single Lexie won’t necessarily be running into the arms of the man she not-so-secretly covets. And it sounds as though that spark of jealousy we saw during the softball game in Season 8, Episode 7: “Put Me In, Coach” won’t be returning any time soon:

“Just because Jackson and Lexie broke up doesn't mean that Lexie will go running back to Mark, particularly since he isn't single at the moment. Yes, Julia will still very much be in the picture when Grey's returns in January, though don't expect Lexie to throw any more softballs at her chest.”

In our shameful Grey’s fantasies, we would take this as good news, serving the possibility that Lexie will finally become the kind of girl Alex Karev needs in his barren love life. But we don’t foresee much action on that front come January 5th. We’ll just keep hoping and wishing!
