Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 is winding down pretty quickly, and there are only a few episodes left. And while we definitely know what we wish would happen in the final episodes, we also know what we wish could have happened earlier this season. As often as creator Shonda Rhimes and the rest of the Grey’s writers get it right, we’ve still got some feedback for them.

Here’s what we wish Grey’s would have done differently this season. Shonda, take note!

We wanted more action! This season — especially when you compare it to the others — lacked a lot of excitement. We would have loved to see more drama and surprises, and less of the doctors trying to find the money to buy the hospital. While we love that MerDer & Co. run the new Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital now, we were pretty bored during some of the negotiation scenes.

We wanted to see more of immediate aftermath of the plane crash! The plane crash was the reason for almost every big event that happened in Season 9, so we really wish we could have seen more of the actual crash. Time jumps can be pretty effective and are sometimes necessary for the pacing of the plot, but throwing us just a few more scenes of the doctors stranded in the woods would have been way more satisfying.

We wanted more of a reaction to Mark and Lexie’s deaths! On that note, after the first couple of episodes, we really lacked any kind of emotional reaction to the fact that two of the main characters died. We really expected more out of Meredith — your sister died, act sad, please! — but honestly, everyone was silent. So much of what happened this season is because of the plane crash and because Mark and Lexie died, so we were really expecting to see more of the personal toll it took on the survivors, not just the business and lawsuit side of it. Renaming the hospital was a nice homage to them, but we’re feeling a little shortchanged.

We wanted less intern screen time! With two major characters having made their exit, there were pretty big gaps to fill in Season 9. We get that. But we just wish they were filled with more storylines from the existing cast instead of the interns. While we love some of the new additions to the cast (particularly Jo Wilson and Heather Brooks), a lot of the interns’ scenes were pretty yawn-worthy and we just didn’t feel invested.
