Now that Grey's Anatomy fans have had enough time to fully accept Lexie’s (Chyler Leigh) death, Chyler is opening up about how she sees Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) moving on from the love of his life, what it was like shooting that epic death scene in the Season 8 finale (Season 8, Episode 24, "Flight"), and who she’s spending her time with post-Grey’s.

Chyler describes Lexie and Mark’s relationship to TV Guide as a “roller coaster” that was “always very dynamic and I think realistic … It was in some ways very young. So Rachel and Ross [from Friends]. It's so hard to put a pin in what went wrong or how it could have gone better.”

But she’s pretty sure that Mark won’t have any trouble getting over her. “Will Mark go on? Absolutely,” she says. “He'll move right along. That's just what Mark Sloan does. But initially I hope there will be a devastation.”

It sounds like filming Lexie’s death was even more brutal than watching it. Chyler says that shooting at Big Bear was “cold,” and “at one point it had snowed.” But the cast and crew was “very accommodating — the crew, cast. And I opted to stay underneath [the wreckage] for the most part over two days rather than trying to get in and out.”

Right now, the mother of three says that the majority of her time is spent at home with her husband (actor Nathan West) and her “three beautiful, complicated, dynamic children. I have a lot of life to live.”

Hopefully she’ll keep up with Season 9 so she can watch Mark’s “devastation”!

Miss Grey’s? Us too. Luckily the show will return to Thursdays at 9 p.m. with all-new episodes in the fall on ABC.
