This was a solid episode back, and we were pleased that it really made use of the complicated situation the lawsuit has left the hospital in.

One of the central focuses of the episode was Jackson (Jesse Williams), who found himself making enemies left and right as he struggled to keep the hospital running smoothly after Owen (Kevin McKidd) quit in anger because the Harper-Avery foundation wanted to fire him as chief. However, by the end of the episode Jackson had shown some real leadership potential, finally stepping up and making decisions — including deciding to go get Owen back, re-open the OR, and re-name the hospital Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Yay Jackson! We really enjoyed seeing him succeed.

This plotline also brought the unresolved tension between Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Owen over the plane crash to a boil. We loved the scene where Cristina (Sandra Oh) called Derek out for not acting like he'd actually forgiven Owen. And, of course, we adored the final bromance moment between Derek and Owen, where Derek admitted that he's pissed at the world, and at Mark (Eric Dane).

Meanwhile, most of the other docs were caught up in a collection of medical cases of the week which culminated in the fight over an OR that allowed Jackson to step up. While none of these cases are going on our "best Grey's medical cases ever" list, they were all solid, and the writers did a great job interviewing character moments, especially with the Alex (Justin Chambers), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), and Jo (Camilla Luddington) plot.

All in all, we enjoyed this episode. 4 stars.
