Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t shy away from horrific and gory injuries, and this week’s episode may just take the cake. We’ve known that Season 9, Episode 22: “Do You Believe in Magic?” features a magician’s trick gone horribly wrong, but we had no idea it would be this bloody.

In a new sneak peek, we see Meredith rushing a patient to the ER, and though the woman is covered in bandages, underneath them, she’s sawed in half. Yep. In two pieces, yet somehow still alive.

As they rush down the hallway, two people are walking behind them in glitzy outfits, presumably the magician and assistant who were responsible for this trick.

“I couldn’t hear ‘Titanic,’” the man says, which the girl beside him claims is the “safe word” that she yelled a hundred times. Either way, as Meredith announces, there was a “chainsaw to the abdomen,” and it will be a miracle if she survives.

However, there may be more to the story than meets the eye. We doubt this patient will immediately die, as the trick involved a “giant propeller” and there’s a “huge twist” involving the magical trio.

This clip also shows that Bailey is far from better. We already knew this, as the doctors stage an intervention after she locks herself in a lab, but it’s still scary to think that she’s not operating. Richard is taking over her patients, though, and it gives him and Meredith a chance to bond on the way to the ER.

“How is she still alive?” Meredith questions. “I have no idea,” Richard replies. So, what will happen to this sawed-in-half gal? Check out the clip below, and then tune in for the episode tomorrow to find out.
