On Grey’s Anatomy, there are often fantastic guest stars, but we haven’t been this excited for a new doctor in quite some time.

When news broke that One Tree Hill alum Hilarie Burton (aka Peyton Sawyer) was headed to Grey Sloan Memorial as a craniofacial specialist, we immediately freaked out, and now we know when she’s scrubbing in.

The former angsty teen will kick off her multi-episode arc in Season 9, Episode 22: “Do You Believe in Magic?” on Thursday, May 2, 2013, which also features All My Children’s Jennifer Bassey. According to the official synopsis, in this ep, “a new craniofacial specialist (Hilarie Burton) arrives at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to work on a young patient.” No further details were provided about her character, but she will either buddy up with Arizona Robbins and Alex Karev, or perhaps face off (pun very much intended) as she deals with the young patient.

Plus, considering that star Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) is directing this spellbinding episode, we have a feeling that we’re in for a crazy hour. There is a magician’s trick gone “horribly, horribly wrong,” too, so maybe she’ll be reconstructing more than one face...

Alas, read on for the full synopsis, and feel free to speculate in the comments below!

“The doctors reach out to Bailey but she continues to shut everyone out; after an incident with Ethan's grandmother, Owen fears the child could end up in foster care; and a new craniofacial specialist (Hilarie Burton) arrives at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to work on a young patient; meanwhile, a magician's assistant is rushed into the ER after a magic trick goes terribly wrong.”

Grey’s Anatomy returns on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
