Most Grey's Anatomy fans would happily sign up for an episode that focused entirely on Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina (Sandra Oh). As we previously reported, the twisted sisters will have their own standalone episode in Season 9, and now we have more information on when it will air and what will take place.

Although ABC hasn’t released an official synopsis of Season 9, Episode 5: “Beautiful Doom” (airing November 8), SpoilerTV posted a short-form synopsis recently, which is as follows.

“As Meredith and Cristina rely on each other as they cope with increasing responsibilities at their respective hospitals and cope with life after the plane crash; Cristina helps Dr. Thomas with a challenging heart surgery.”

In a way, we’re happy to hear that Cristina is getting more responsibilities at work in Minnesota. She was pushing for them in Season 9, Episode 4: "I Saw Her Standing There", but got surprisingly (and adorably) side-tracked by Dr. Thomas and his signature cardio procedure.

But we’re worried about Meredith. We haven’t seen much of Zola this season, as Mer and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) have been overwhelmed with the aftermath of the tragic plane crash. What will happen when Mer finally begins to grieve for the loss of her sister Lexie (Chyler Leigh)?

At least she’s got her “person” to help her through it.

UPDATE: ABC has released the official episode synopsis, which is as follows.

"In this Meredith & Cristina-centric episode, the two friends continue to cope with life after the plane crash and their ever-growing responsibilities at their respective hospitals. As Meredith juggles taking care of Zola with a case that hits close to home, Cristina assists Dr. Thomas on a challenging heart surgery."
