Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) or BCB, as some might call her is known as the heart of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Bailey’s a good mom, an awesome surgeon, and she’s always there for her patients... and the other doctors. Although she can sometimes seem a little terrifying, she’s always been one of the Grey’s Anatomy doctors who’s most emotionally involved with her patients.

Here are Bailey’s best moments from Season 9:

Bailey convinces Arizona to go back to work. After losing her leg in the plane crash, Arizona wasn’t exactly pumped to get back to work. And could you blame her? But Bailey decided enough was enough, and tried hard to lure Arizona back to the hospital by asking her opinion on certain cases. And Bailey was right — when reminded of the patients she could be helping, Arizona just couldn’t stay away. We love Bailey for how much she cares about her co-workers.

Bailey’s wedding. Bailey’s marriage to Ben wasn’t off to quite the best start — in true Bailey fashion, she was hours late to her own wedding because she was in surgery. But when she did finally make it to the wedding, she looked beautiful, and her reception was picture perfect.  We’re so happy Bailey’s found someone who makes her so happy — nobody deserves a happy ending like she does!

Bailey’s genome mapping project. When the hospital’s strapped for cash while they’re in negotiation with Pegasus, Bailey gets pretty pissed when they refuse to let her do a genome map for a patient who could really use it. And when Bailey gets pissed, nothing can stand in her way, and she used that fire to fuel her argument to the new board of directors. After a long day of hassling her fellow surgeons, she finally manages to get the funding for her genome mapping project, which will allow her to save thousands of lives in the future.

The infection isn’t Bailey’s fault. When a nasty outbreak of Staph hit Bailey’s patients, things didn’t look good for her, and the CDC had to come in and investigate. Ultimately, it was decided that despite the fact that Bailey did carry that particular strain of Staph, it was the cheap gloves used during surgery (recommended by Pegasus, of course) to blame. We sighed with major relief when we found out it wasn’t Bailey’s fault. The investigation left Bailey pretty shaken up, but we have no doubt she’ll bounce back and be a better surgeon than ever.
