Most of the spoilers we've heard about the early episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 9 leave us wary. And why wouldn't we be? Season 8 ended with a huge disaster in the form of a plane crash — all we can focus on is whether everyone will survive, and what state they'll be in if they do.

However, apparently the new season won't all be doom and gloom. Celebuzz recently caught up with Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt), who dished on an episode that will be anything but angsty.

Kevin directed Season 9, Episode 4: "I Saw Her Standing There," and he told Celebuzz that his latest directorial effort will offer a bit of relief from the drama.

"I got given a kind of pretty light fun [episode]," Kevin explained. "I think we need that after the first three episodes."

Kevin also teased that the episode will feature some "pretty far-out comedic storylines." Sounds fun — though we might be thrown by the tonal whiplash if the first few episodes are as harrowing as we expect them to be.

Are you happy to hear that we'll have a break from the heavy drama, or do you think you'll be too distraught to appreciate a comedic episode so early in the season?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
