Let’s take a break from all the death and uncertainty surrounding Grey's Anatomy Season 9 to talk about what’s happening in Seattle with our favorite dreamy couple.
We’ve already reported that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will move into the dream house, but what will happen to the house that started it all?

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Ellen elaborated on the house situation. “We're moving into the dream house. And I think Alex takes Meredith's house,” she said. Way to casually drop a big spoiler! Love ya, Ellen.
So Alex (Justin Chambers) gets to stay put. He has lived in Mer's house the longest of anyone (Meredith excluded), and we’re pretty sure he's slept with the most people in that house. So he’s definitely staked his claim in his own, slutty way.
Do you think that someone will move into Meredith’s room? Will Alex? That's too weird. And isn’t Derek’s drawing of a brain still on the wall in that room from the days of the impossible tumor or brain worms or something?
Regardless of who moves in, they might not be there for long. Do you think Alex will kick out all of the other surgeons when he finds the love of his life? Meredith certainly didn’t, but it is Alex we’re talking about here.
No matter what, at least the place that once housed the intern versions of George (T.R. Knight), Izzie (Katherine Heigl), and Mer will remain in the right (albeit dirty) hands.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
