Now that the interminable lawsuit plotline is finally behind us on Grey's Anatomy Season 9, we're unsure about what the future holds. We know there probably won't be a big disaster in the finale plus a few other details, but there's no sense of a larger arc, yet. However, a new spoiler from E! gives us a bit more clarity.

E! reports the Grey's Powers That Be are looking for a big name to play "a big time, powerful lead investigator who will appear near the end of the season."

Given that the show wants a big actor and this character pops up near the end of the season, we're guessing that this investigator is tied to whatever plot the writers plan for the Season 9 finale. And if we know anything about Grey's, it's that end of the season storylines are big, dramatic, and normally no fun for the characters involved.

So why do you think there will be an investigator around? Our first thought is a malpractice lawsuit, though there are other possibilities. Maybe someone —  a doctor or patient —  at Seattle Grace-Mercy West will be accused of a crime.
