Grey's Anatomy Season 9 is less than two weeks away (it premieres on September 27), but that's still an agonizingly long wait.

Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the new season, and his hints about what's coming for Owen, Cristina (Sandra Oh), and more make the wait even harder. He sure knows how to put together a tantalizing sound bite!

When asked whether or not the cheating scandal will still be an issue for the troubled couple, Kevin said, "I think we’ve kind of blown past that in a way because the cataclysmic events of what happened," noting that it even though Owen wasn't on the plane "it's going to come back and affect Owen as well." This fits with Kevin's prior statement that the crash is basically a "reset" button for Owen/Cristina."

However, just because there have been hints that Owen and Cristina may reconcile doesn't mean we should "assume" they are in the same hospital at the beginning of the season — which means Cristina could follow through on her plan to leave for a new job.

Meanwhile, we know that the series premiere will involve a time jump a few months forward, and then the second episode will flash back to around the time of the crash. To EW, Kevin hints that the flashbacks "may appear in other [episodes]" as well as Episode 2. He also says that they will be "featured heavily" in Episode 2, suggesting that the episode may feature some present-day scenes as well.

Finally, Kevin teased that some characters may act in ways that seem "out of character" due to stress and duress. Could that be related to the new, no-nonsense Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), or will other characters have big personality changes, too?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
