Although we haven’t heard much about April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) relationship recently — I mean, the two have been a little busy making sure the hospital doesn’t go under — in upcoming Grey’s Anatomy episodes, we will be finding out more about the future of the super adorable pair!

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Shonda Rhimes spoke out about what we can expect from their characters — and how that hot new paramedic Matthew (Justin Bruening) will fit into things! “I like Jackson and April together a lot," Shonda told THR. "It was clear to me when they broke up that it felt like Jackson really liked April. When they broke up, April seemed so relieved that she wasn't pregnant and that they didn't have to get married and Jackson was very hurt."

So... does that mean that Jackson and April will forgive and forget? Uh, not if Matthew the paramedic has anything to say about it! But it doesn’t sound like April is quite convinced on her potential new man just yet. “She's pleasantly surprised to have somebody take an interest in her," actress Sarah Drew told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm not sure that she's looking for anything serious right now. It catches her a little off-guard."

As for Jackson and his new lady-friend, intern Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton)? Show runner Shonda Rhimes isn’t giving much away! “It's going to be very interesting to see how Jackson feels about the fact that [April’s] dating someone else now. He does seem to be having a fling with Stephanie, who's funny and delightful in her own right, and we'll see what that ends up meaning,” she explains.
