Let’s real-talk for a minute, Grey’s Anatomy fans: Season 9 has been more focused on the actual hospital than the doctors working in it. Though we’ve seen some strides in relationships — Meredith and Derek’s baby and Callie and Arizona’s reinvigorated sex life, among others — overall, we’ve had a lot of B-storylines about the interns and complicated patient cases.

While there are some people that we don’t miss much, there are others who are either not getting enough screen time, or simply getting terrible storylines that are completely out of character. Remember when Bailey was the “Nazi” and kept the orderlies in check? While we’re happy she’s finally happily married, she’s turned a little soft through the years, and we’d love to see her feisty side come out more often.

And on that note, what’s been happening with Richard? We understand he’s not the chief anymore, but seeing him pulling pranks with Alex and spending the rest of his time canoodling with the elder Dr. Avery is a 180 from the stern, yet helpful Dr. Webber of years past. We’re just a little confused.

Speaking of confusing, what is happening with Owen and Cristina? One day they’re separated, then the next they’re hooking up. We understand that Cristina had to hide things from him as they tried to buy the hospital, but now they’re spending the night together, yet still not officially together. Separately, they don’t have particularly strong storylines, either, and together, it’s even worse. Everything is always in flux, and for once, we’d love some stability from them.

Lastly, what’s with the extreme focus on the interns? No one is ever going to replace Meredith & Co., so it’s not worth it to keep trying to push these mundane storylines on us. However, we are behind Alex and Jo, 100 percent.

Who do you want to see more of on Grey’’s, and what changes have frustrated you the most? Tell us below!
