With so much excitement on last night’s Grey's Anatomy (Season 9, Episode 7: "I Was Made for Lovin’ You"), we almost forgot that there are only two more episodes this year. Since this show is clearly capable of shocking us (with good and bad news), we thought we’d clue you in on what to expect in the Season 9 winter finale (Season 9, Episode 9: “Run, Baby, Run,” airing December 13).

As many of you know already, Neve Campbell will show up in Season 9, Episode 8: “Love Turns You Upside Down” (airing December 6) as Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) sister Lizzie Shepherd. Well, she’ll be sticking around for the finale too. According to the official press release, “Lizzie butts heads with Meredith.” Will this be due to Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) pregnancy?

Also in the winter finale, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) will try to convince Derek to try a risky surgery to heal the nerve damage in his hand. Knowing Grey’s, we can’t help worrying that something will go wrong. It’s hard for Derek to hand over control to other people, both in the operating room and in life. So we’re not sure he’s ready to opt for a risky procedure.

Richard (James Pickens Jr.) will be helping Bailey (Chandra Wilson) out with some pre-wedding jitters, and we assume Adele will be featured. Since she will be dying in an early 2013 episode, we wouldn’t be surprised if Richard learned about her weakened condition at some point in the winter finale.

Are you excited? Or just anxious thinking about how to survive the holidays with no new Grey’s?
