And the puzzle pieces keep coming together.

So far, we know that the Grey's Anatomy Season 9 premiere jumps ahead in time by two to three months, and Season 9, Episode 2 takes us back to the plane crash in the forest. But what about Season 9, Episode 3?

According to TV Guide, the third episode will take us back to present time. Directed by Debbie Allen (Catherine Avery), Season 9, Episode 3 will bring things back to the Seattle Grace we know and love. Well, for the most part. A few friendly faces will be missing from the halls of the hospital as some doctors will have moved on to new jobs. The question is: Who has moved on? We know that there is a realtor in Season 9, Episode 3, so it’s possible that someone is looking to escape our favorite rainy town. Surely it can’t be Cristina (Sandra Oh) if she is reuniting with Hunt, right? What about Alex (Justin Chambers)? Will Seattle Grace finally lose its bad boy?

No matter what happens, don’t think that a new job means saying goodbye to your favorite character. Grey’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, has said that cameras might follow doctors to new locations, and we certainly hope we don’t have to say goodbye to anyone else. Losing Mark and Lexie is about all we can handle right now.

This will be Debbie Allen’s fifth time directing an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Although there is no word on whether Allen’s character, Catherine Avery, will be returning, how long can she stay away after getting caught having a one-night stand with Richard (James Pickens Jr.)?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
