May 17th brings the Grey's Anatomy Season 8 finale (Episode 24, "Flight"), and, with it, the death of one of our beloved Seattle Grace docs. The weeks leading up to the episode have been full of speculations about who will die, but now that we're closer to the episode, it's time to start thinking about the how. Obviously the Grey's Anatomy gang is staying tight-lipped about circumstances surrounding the write-off, but Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery) gave a bit of insight about what to expect.

"I can’t say the how or why but it’s absolutely going to be sad. It was heart-wrenching at the table read, and it was heart wrenching as we shot it," Jesse told TV Line. "It matters, and it’s not going to be quickly forgotten by anyone."
We've been both traumatized and — dare we say it? — relieved with past Grey's deaths; we almost died on the table along with George (TR Knight), while we were sort of okay when the ever-so-slightly annoying Dr. Reed wound up on the wrong end of the hospital shooter's gun. But it sounds like this doctor's swan song will be a five-tissue kind of event. We warned you!
Tune in to Grey's Anatomy on Thursday, May 17 at at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC to find out who meets an untimely end.
