We know that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will turn to work and anger to deal with Lexie’s (Chyler Leigh) death and the aftermath of the plane crash on Season 9 of Grey's Anatomy, but what does that mean for her co-workers? We’re most curious about what it means for her Chief/the cheating husband of her BFF.

Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about just that.

“In the first few episodes, they don't have much interaction. They don't really cross paths that much. But Owen is keeping an eye on her. Meredith shuts down and that's her way of coping with life and death and she does harden herself in a way, which actually makes her very affective yet formidable teacher. All these doctors who were residents are now attendings and there's a responsibility on them that wasn't there before. It's interesting to see how they cope with the that and the stress of the aftermath of the crash,” Kevin said.

So how do you all think the “hardened” Meredith with interact with Owen? He’s still her superior, but he’s also the man that cheated on her best friend. Could she blame Owen for Cristina’s (Sandra Oh) moving? Will we have a showdown?

We know Meredith isn’t intimidated by Owen. After all, she was the one that gave him that great speech about Cristina’s need for an abortion … which ended up changing his mind. Well, it temporarily seemed to changed his mind at least.

What do you want to see happen between Owen and Meredith? Are you hoping she gives him a good talking to?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
