We were pleasantly surprised to see Owen (Kevin McKidd) visit April (Sarah Drew) at the end of the Season 9 premiere of Grey's Anatomy (Season 9, Episode 1: "Going, Going, Gone"). So it seems that April is getting a second (or third) chance at working at Seattle Grace-Mercy West, but how will she react to the opportunity?

TVLine spoke to Sarah Drew about April’s role in the ninth season.

“In the third episode of the season, she comes back in, rarin’ to go. She has a whole new outlook on how she’s going to live her life… and then it gets completely turned on its head. But that’s really fun!”

A new outlook? What exactly was her old outlook? She was always such a positive person until her downfall, so could she be back to her old positive self, her old negative self or something else altogether?

Well, we suppose it doesn’t matter if it gets turned on its head. Perhaps returning isn’t as easy as she expected? Or maybe it’s easier? We’re confused.

All we want is a little Jackson (Jesse Williams) action. Sarah’s response? “They will always be friends. Lets just put it that way. But where it goes is a very interesting journey, one with a lot of twists and turns.”

Interesting, huh? We guess we can accept that. So long as one of the twists and turns is a makeout session … or two.

Do you hope that April and Jackson make it work? And what do you expect from Aprils attitude?

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
