Seattle Grace-Mercy West is going through big changes on Grey's Anatomy Season 9, and Season 9, Episode 17: "Transplant Wasteland" will give us our first look at what the hospital is like under new management. But how is Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) dealing with all of the changes? Jesse and other cast members recently dished some spoilers to TV Guide about what's coming up now that Jackson has more power.

In the interview, Jesse admits that Jackson was totally shocked by his mother's announcement at the end of Episode 16. Part of him is angry at Catherine (Debbie Allen) for springing such a huge change on him without consulting him, and "it's also a really daunting task. It's a lot of responsibility."

Plus, the entire situation leads to some pretty complicated dynamics for the rest of the hospital — Owen (Kevin McKidd) even quits as Chief after learning the board might fire him anyway. Will Jackson end up being blamed for that?

Maybe not. It turns out "he realizes he needs to draw a line and stand for something and get Owen back." However, the journey to that point isn't easy.

First of all, the new board, which is made up of the lawsuit docs, are unsurprisingly a bit wary of having Jackson in charge, and aren't sure if he's really ready to handle such an important role. Jesse says Jackson's goal is to "put his best foot forward and earn their respect, instead of feeling entitled to it." However, "Jackson quickly feels like it's getting out from under him."

Meanwhile, the rest of the board members end up getting heat from other members of the staff, who feel like the lawsuit docs are responsible for the chain of events that led to Jackson being in charge.
