Last week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy aired as Thursday’s number one show for the second week in a row and by a larger margin than the premiere. Beating out NBC’s The Office/Outsourced comedy hour and Fox’s Fringe, the hospital drama’s viewer ratings surged in the second week of the season. Despite MerDer’s solid (for once) relationship status, and a rather alarming lack of love triangles, Grey’s seems to have gone back to its roots and sought out some bizarre medical cases worthy of the Grey’s of yore. A season to compete with those like Season 2 (really, the Golden Age of Grey’s, no?) is a lot to expect, but the series is premiering strong, and definitely out of its underwhelming past few seasons slump.
