Doctor falls in love with patient, doctor starts a relationship with patient, patient dies. Seem familiar? Henry (Scott Foley)'s death on Grey's Anatomy Season 8, Episode 9, "Dark Was the Night" was heartbreaking, but hardly unprecedented. Indeed, it's hard to imagine any long-time Grey's fan not jumping to the Denny comparison. (For those of you who are new to Grey's, read up on what happened here).

Kim Raver (Teddy Altman) talked to The Hollywood Reporter about Henry's shocking death and what it means for Teddy, and she made it clear we won't see a rehash of Izzie (Katherine Heigl)'s breakdown after Denny's death.

Kim is confident that "[Teddy]'s not going to be a puddle on the floor." In fact, while Izzie quit, Kim thinks Teddy might "might mask [her pain] with really working and not being able to deal with it."

You can also expect Henry's death to have a huge impact on Owen (Kevin McKidd), Cristina (Sandra Oh), and both of their relationships with Teddy — the situation will "create a lot of conflict between Owen, Teddy and Cristina."  Furthermore, Teddy's realization that Owen lied to her is "going to be devastating." No kidding! This intricate emotional tangle makes their old love triangle seem downright simple.

But it's not all bad news. As gut-wrenching as the loss of her first true love is for Teddy, Kim remains hopeful that this will give us a chance to "understand a little bit of who Teddy is inside."  That's the nice thing about TV: In the end, there's a silver lining to every tragedy.
