Kevin McKidd is making a return to the big screen, this time, in animated form. He'll voice the Pixar animated feature Brave, opposite leading lady Reese Witherspoon. She'll voice a princess in medieval Scotland (yes, for those of you who are wondering, McKidd will get to use his native accent for the role). Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters, and Emma Thompson (Hadgrid, Molly Weasley, and Professor Trelawney of Harry Potter movie fame, if you will) will also lend their voices, as well as Billy Connolly and Craig Ferguson. The film is set to release next summer, but, in the meantime, McKidd is relishing showing up to work in his pajamas — ah, the joys of voice-overs.
McKidd also took some time to dish his Oscar pick for Best Actor this year: "I think [Colin Firth] will win and I want him to because he's a friend, and I think he's a great actor, and a beautiful man." Adds McKidd of The King's Speech star, "I'd like to see Colin get it because he's one of the true gents in this business, and he's so unassuming as a man, and I just think it'd be great for him."
