After being named Save the Children's official spokesperson for World Pneumonia Day last year, Grey's Anatomy star Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) has teamed up with the organization once again, this time to spread awareness about the emergency conditions in East Africa. The region is currently suffering from a drought threatening the lives of more than 10 million people.

"These families have been left with no crops, livestock, or water," Kevin explains in his latest PSA. "Save the Children has set up emergency feeding centers to provide food, water, and medical care to thousands of people each day, but more help is urgently needed. Aid workers are reporting that children are walking 50 to 60 miles, often carrying younger siblings on their backs, in order to reach these emergency centers."

Check out the vid below for more info on how to donate and become involved. Bonus: The video's short, to the point, avoids unbearable Sarah McLachlan-scored montages, and Kevin McKidd is speaking with his devastatingly sexy Scottish accent.
