Although we’re not sure if Grey's Anatomy’s Shonda Rhimes has found herself an EMT just yet, we do know of at least one new face coming to Seattle Grace-Mercy West in Season 9.

TV Guide reports that Nip/Tuck alum Roma Maffia will be joining the plane-crash lawsuit craziness as Roberta, a member of the hospital board. Things always get very serious and official when the board gets involved, which means we’ll more than likely see Roma dressed in a suit and wearing her best pensive frown while “contemplating” an issue in a hospital conference room.

Reportedly, Roma has signed on for a multi-episode arc and has the potential to become a recurring character. We suppose those board members are always lurking about somewhere, spending their days contemplating and frowning.

We will first see Roma in the Nov. 29th episode, but according to Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), we can expect to see the beginning of the plane-crash drama tomorrow night. “We've got the whole lawsuit, which really starts to blow up in this Thursday's episode. Where that's going to take all of the participants, and who's going to ultimately end up with the blame for the accident? I think that's going to also come in as a surprise,” Chandra said.

Well, based on her past legal and medical experience — Roma was on Boston Legal, The West Wing and ER — we imagine that she’ll be perfect for the part. And as long as she sides with our favorite docs (or at least creates some quality drama), we will welcome her with open arms.

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, November 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
