The second generation of Shondaland has grown again! Private Practice (and sometimes Grey's Anatomy) star Caterina Scorsone, who plays Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) troubled sis Amelia, welcomed a baby daughter into the world this weekend.

According to People, Caterina gave birth to little Eliza on on Friday, June 6, 2012. Eliza is Caterina's first child with hubby Rob Giles, and the couple told People, "We couldn’t be more in love with her and are overflowing with gratitude for this beautiful miracle."

On Sunday, July 8, Caterina tweeted, "Thanks so much for all of the wishes and blessings! Eliza, Rob and I are doing great and are deliriously happy...and a bit sleepy."

Eliza is the latest in a number of additions to the Shondaland family. Less than a month ago Grey's Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) also had a daughter. In January Sarah Drew (April Kepner) gave birth to her first kid, a son named Micah Emmanuel Lanfer. And in February, Shonda herself adopted a baby girl named Emerson Pearl.

We're hoping for some adorable playdate pics one day.

Congrats Caterina!

Miss Grey’s? Us too. Luckily the show will return to Thursdays at 9 p.m. with all-new episodes in the fall on ABC.
