Sandra Oh Up Against Private Practice Star for a PRISM Award
Sandra Oh has been nominated for the 2011 PRISM Award for Best Female Performance in a Drama Series Multi-Episode Storyline, alongside Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Monica Potter (Parenthood), Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy), and KaDee Strickland (Private Practice). The PRISM Awards honor film and TV that brings attention to substance abuse and mental health issues, including prevention, treatment, and recovery.
Oh's portrayal of Cristina Yang, suffering from PTSD after the Season 6 shootout, gained her the nod, which last year, went to fellow Grey's PTSD sufferer, Kevin McKidd. When he accepted Best Male Performance last year, he even thanked Oh for her support.
Grey's Anatomy has also been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series Multi-Episode Storyline – Mental Health for the hospital shooting storyline. Allow us to be the first to say, Shonda, Best. Idea. Ever.
