One of the more happier things to develop on Grey's Anatomy in recent months is the emergence of April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) new romance. Will these longtime friends finally take the relationship plunge? Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Sarah at the Media Access Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 10 to talk about this ship’s future.

Wetpaint Entertainment: I hear you’re presenting your boss with an award today!
Sarah Drew: I am very excited to present this award to her. It’s really cool. You know Shonda has been sort of a pioneer in telling stories of diversity in a really beautiful and amazing way and this year we get to tell a story about Arizona who loses her leg in the beginning of the season and Shonda really wants to tell it in a way that makes her totally and completely human and normal and celebrating this new journey that she has, now that she’s differently abled. But that doesn’t make her any less than, so I’m excited. I love my boss, I love my show so I wanted to be here to support her this season.

What can we expect from April this season?
A little romance, a little romance.

Might that be with one Mr. Jackson Avery?
I can’t say with who but the first few episodes have been really fun.

Will we get to see you more with Jackson?
I’m not going to say anything about that! I can’t give it away! Well you know there has been a promo on the telly and on the internet, which shows Jackson saying, “Do you want to get married?” So that’s already out there. So there’s that, so we’ll see.

Stay tuned next week for more from Sarah about April’s faith and how she’ll act around the new interns.

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, October 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
