Spoiler: Derek Chooses Unlikely Doc to be His Alzheimer's Trial Assistant

We understand Meredith getting upset by Derek picking Cristina over her as the resident to assist with his Alzheimer's Trial. But, recent spoilers lead us to believe Karev may be the chosen one. This, of course, gives Meredith even more reason to be upset, but, of all the residents Derek had to choose from, would he really go with Alex? Alex who's in a Peds phase and generally cranky and rude to patients?
Well, Spoiler TV confirms he'll assist Derek in one trial, at least, during the episode airing February 23rd. L. Scott Caldwell, of LOST fame, will guest star as Karev's patient's wife.
