We're kind of glad we have three weeks to recover from the CalZona-intensive musical episode, but what's in store for everyone else at Seattle Grace come finale-time? We haven't heard much about Dr. Kepner's fate, but, luckily, Sarah Drew (April Kepner) swooped in just in time with the scoop.
"There's some really juicy, fun stuff coming up with April and Stark. Not so much romantic," she dishes to TV Guide. Phew. Thank goodness. We were completely and utterly skeeved out by that whole situation. Not that we don't love you, Peter MacNicol.
"The finale is going to shock a lot of people," she continues. "And something happens to my character that will change her future, for the next several seasons. It's very emotionally centered and emotionally grounded. It's not a big external thing that makes everybody freak out, but a lot of different characters are affected in this moment."
Hmm, it doesn't quite sound like the sweet, romantic de-flowering of April Kepner we've been waiting for all season, but the deer-in-headlights, formerly McDreamy-obsessed doc has grown on us a lot this past season, so we're glad to see she's being fleshed out and getting a big juicy story line all to herself. Dare we speculate that she might be named Chief Resident at the end of the season? She is Dr. Hunt's hardcore trauma favorite and he's in charge of picking the lucky resident. (Needless to say, we're going to be very smug and self-satisfied if we called this right.)
