Calling all George O'Malley fans: Your week is looking up. The ineffable T.R. Knight is slated to make a guest appearance on an episode of Law & Order: SVU next season. He's shooting right now, although an air date for the ep has yet to be released. (Ahem, all you New Yorkers who have been stalking him — keep an eye out!)

This will be Knight's first TV role since leaving Grey's Anatomy in 2009 (has it been that long already?). T.R. seems to have parted ways with Los Angeles altogether; he's been living in New York since he doffed his Seattle Grace scrubs and doing the Broadway thing, acting opposite Patrick Stewart in A Life in the Theater last year. Thankfully, a few decent television shows still film in NYC, SVU among them.

Get ready for T.R. to ooze character all over your screens once again this fall — he booked the role of a serial rapist our dear Benson and Stabler the new guy (played by Cold Case's Danny Pino) are after. Can we just ask, what is with the lovable nerds of yore wanting to get their dark and creepy on by playing rapists? First Nicholas Brenden completely shatters our late ‘90s crush on Xander Harris by playing an evil, deranged rapist on Private Practice, and now T.R. Knight?

We can't take this, guys. There better be a fresh crop of bumbling nerds for us to crush on this fall. All the good ones are turning to a life of crime.
