In 2011, we got to relive the music of Grey's Anatomy in a new way … through the voices of our favorite actors. Although Callie’s (Sara Ramirez) voice was nothing short of spectacular, the musical episode received mixed reviews from fans. But that might not stop Shonda Rhimes from trying it again, and this time on Private Practice.

William Keck from TV Guide reports that Rhimes might finally be ready to give the musical episode another try on Private Practice. Rhimes has already said that, “Every episode will be special” in season six, but she chose not to comment on whether or not there will officially be a musical episode. However, she did talk about getting Broadway star Audra McDonald (Naomi Bennett) back, which could happen thanks to the fact that McDonald’s current Tony-winning run ends in late September.

Plus, McDonald isn’t the only musical talent on Private Practice. Taye Diggs (Sam Bennett) spent time in the Broadway production of Rent, and Paul Adelstein (Cooper Freedman) just released an album. “The musical talent on Private Practice is equally stunning [as Grey's]," Rhimes says. We don’t disagree. But if Rhimes tries to incorporate a musical episode, what approach should she take? Does someone have to be on the brink of death like Callie was? Could it be a dream sequence?

According to Rhimes, Season 6 won’t be without its drama. Fans can expect "a death, some babies, a likely return of a favorite and there could possibly be a wedding." So maybe we will have a musical wedding? Or with Addison (Kate Walsh) leaving after 13 episodes, could they send her off with a song? Or should Rhimes let the idea go completely?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
