Alex Karev arrived at Seattle Grace with a lot of baggage. Raised by an abusive and heroin-addicted father, Alex spent much of his childhood in foster care. He moved on to attend the University of Iowa on a wrestling scholarship, which isn't really as exciting as Alex's crazy love life. (After his tragic childhood, it's understandable that his relationships with women have been rather dysfunctional... to say the least.) Alex has carried on affairs with Derek's ex-wife, Addison Montgomery, disfigured amnesiac Rebecca "Ava" Pope, bisexual orthopedic surgeon Callie Torres, and syphilitic nurse Olivia Harper. All of this drama happened before he finally married (and divorced) Izzie Stevens. His fling with Lexie Grey occupied him for a little bit, but he's now onto other prospects. Namely, a certain OB/GYN named Lucy.
