Grey's Anatomy

Season 10

For the latest news on Grey’s Anatomy Season 10, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve got the latest spoilers, pics and news right here.

It seems like Grey’s Anatomy just started yesterday, but it’s been on for nine glorious years. And good news for fans of the medical drama — it was officially renewed for Season 10, a huge milestone for the ABC show.

Though we haven’t heard much about the upcoming season, creator Shonda Rhimes and her expert team are already hard at work writing, and we bet there will be at least one cliffhanger in the Season 9 finale (Season 9, Episode 24: “Perfect Storm, airing Thursday, May 16).

The biggest question on our minds is whether Season 10 will be the least season. We think it may be — and here’s why:

The original cast’s contracts run out at the end of next season. At the end of Season 8, there were rumors that some of the cast members wanted out and/or were demanding too much money, but they managed to get everyone under contract until Season 10. Will the main cast survive another contract renewal? Only time will tell.

Shows rarely go past 10 seasons. The exception to this rule is ER, which lasted 15 seasons, but shows don’t usually go for 10 or more! Though we’d love to see more — and so would the cast, especially Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Drew — we think it could wrap up next season, too.

Shonda Rhimes is super busy. Even though Private Practice is over, creator Shonda Rhimes still has intense hit Scandal headed into Season 3, and apparently she’s looking to develop more projects, too. Can she handle another season of Grey’s? And more importantly, does she want to?

Then again, we could be wrong! The ratings are still great in Season 9, especially for such a long-running show, so there is a chance that it will keep going. However, it would be great for it to go out on a high note.
