In a new sneak peek from Grey's Anatomy Season 9, Episode 17: "Transplant Wasteland" (March 14), Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) finds himself in an awkward position as the representative of the Harper-Avery foundation on the hospital's board.
First, he shows up late to the meeting, which doesn't exactly earn him good will. And that's just the beginning.
Next, he's forced to tell the docs who fought so hard to buy the hospital that the Harper-Avery foundation isn't entirely sold on re-opening the ER and trauma department. "They need a site visit, a chance to look over the numbers," he tries to explain. Surprise! It doesn't go over well. We can only imagine how April (Sarah Drew) is going to take the news.
Even worse? He has to tell the board — which includes Cristina (Sandra Oh) — that the Harper-Avery foundation "recommends" a change of leadership, because they think it would be "good for morale."
"Oh, no way," Callie (Sara Ramirez) bursts out, and everyone else agrees. Jackson practically has a mutiny on his hands within a minute of entering the room.
