Grey’s Anatomy’s Callie and Arizona — Is There Hope? Jessica Capshaw Says…

We’ll admit it — five episodes into Grey’s Anatomy season 10, and we’re still feeling heartbroken that Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) are on the outs.

And with Callie and Arizona both showing the first signs of moving on in last week’s episode (“I Bet it Stung”) — whether “moving on” means dancing in your underwear or chatting up someone new at Joe’s — we’re starting to lose hope.

But, as Jessica told TV Guide, it may not be time to throw in the towel just yet.

“If someone can say you're dead, then this isn't going the right way,” Jessica said at first, referencing the moment at the fundraising gala when she overheard Callie pretending Arizona had been killed in the plane crash to milk the donors.”

However, she said, there is good news.

“They get to figure out whether or not they want to be together not because of a horrible deception,” Jessica said, “but because they're two people that are realizing their misgivings and figuring out if they're even interested in being with each other, which they may or may not be.”

We’d like to say that Callie and Arizona’s relationship — at least, the way it used to be — is strong enough to get through this. But Jessica’s right: this is the perfect opportunity for them to rethink what they want in their lives, and if they do end up back together, it’s because both of them truly care about each other.
