Grey’s Anatomy’s Jessica Capshaw on Arizona and Leah: “I Don’t See It As Infidelity”

Last week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy (Season 10, Episode 5: “I Bet It Stung”) threw us a major curveball where Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is concerned: is there chemistry between her and intern Leah (Tessa Ferrer)? It’s very possible… and despite the fact that they’re still not on speaking terms, Arizona’s still married to Callie (Sara Ramirez).

But as far as Jessica’s concerned, she’s not digging herself a deeper hole by getting closer to Leah. In fact, she told TV Guide, Arizona sees it as “life trying to go on.”

At a certain point, when you're being cast as the villain, then the villain realizes that even though they don't feel very villainous, they're going to at least need some friends and people to relate to on some level,” Jessica said — and she’s found that in Leah. “The attention and the possibility makes her feel something that's not bad.”

And although the idea of Leah is helping Arizona move on, that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s ready to jump into a new relationship just yet.

“I think that nobody knows what it is,” Jessica said. “It's an interesting way for Arizona to see how she feels about being on her own and how she feels about the idea of a new relationship, but more about how she feels about being alone, which I don't think she likes.”

We totally agree — who likes being alone and ostracized from the person they love? Although Arizona did make a huge mistake, we don’t think she should be punished for that forever. But our fingers are still crossed that someday down the line, Callie and Arizona will find their way back to each other!

Do you like Arizona with Leah, or is it way too soon? Let us know what you think!
