Grey’s Anatomy’s Most Romantic Moments of 2012

2012 was a rough year for the docs of Grey's Anatomy. Spouses cheated, spouses died, and then there was that whole plane crash thing. But don’t worry. These docs are resilient. And more than that, they’re romantic.

Here are our top five most romantic moments of 2012:

Lexie’s (Chyler Leigh) I love you: Outside the hospital, the moment when Lexie finally worked up enough courage to tell Mark how much she loved him (with tears in her eyes) was one of the show’s best confessions, topped only by Meredith’s Season 2 “Pick me, choose me, love me.”

Mark’s (Eric Dane) I love you: Unfortunately, Mark wasn’t able to return the sentiment until Lexie was on the verge of death, and yet it was still one of the most romantic moments we’ve ever seen on the show. Heaven is one lucky (and romantic) place right about now.

Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Ben (Jason George) get engaged: Seeing Bailey finally find her match after years of Tucker drama? What’s more romantic than that?

Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Cristina (Sandra Oh) kiss: This only happened last week, and it’s making our list. After the marriage they’ve had, filled with baby drama, adultery and a plane crash, this kiss was a long time coming. And it could not have been better.

Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) all in: When April (Sarah Drew) had a pregnancy scare, it gave Jackson the opportunity to express everything he wanted: a life with April. Sigh.

That being said, we’re expecting a lot more of these moments from the rest of Season 9, aka the season of romance. Which couple do you hope makes our next list?

Catch the next new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
