Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Perform Duet on ‘The Voice’ (VIDEO)
The Voice couple performed their collab “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” for the first time on-air last night, May 9.
The No Doubt frontwoman, 46, and her country crooning beau, 39, looked so in love while belting out their ultra-personal track, which deals with their mutual breakups and eventual romance.
"I'm excited because this is a song Gwen and I feel so close to for obvious reasons,” Blake told People. “It's as brutally honest and straightforward as you can be in a love song."
The pre-taped rendition actually took two takes to film and NBC went with the second option. So viewers missed the sweet moment when the Southern star kissed his lady on the forehead.
Yet the emotional showing isn’t the only big Voice news. Current coach Christina Aguilera has a very big on-screen gig coming up herself.
Xtina hinted the surprising duet will cap off the season, saying, “I am sworn to secrecy. I can't say anything, but I'm very excited about the finale. Very exciting things happening."
After digital Whitney’s TV debut, she’s expected to go on a world tour thanks to Hologram USA.
Hopefully, someone is working on a high-tech Prince doppelganger right now.
