Gwyneth Paltrow Tells Daughter Apple That the Internet is “Not Safe”

According to E! Online, A-list celeb and controversial parent Gwyneth Paltrow is dropping her opinion on yet another topic: the internet. “It’s not safe,” she told daughter Apple when she began questioning things she’d seen in the online world.

The timing of Gwyneth's sharp warning couldn't be more perfect, as every media outlet has reported on a very close call the 4-year-old recently had with a school bus while riding her Vespa with Apple on the back. But we digress…

Gwyneth was reportedly promoting her new dramedy about sex addiction, Thanks for Sharing, when she mentioned some of the tough questions her inquisitive 9-year-old daughter asks. "She asks me about why bad things happen, if there's a devil, is God real or is it an energy," The Goop founder said. "She's super-smart. She asked me, like, really big stuff. And then there's the birds-and-the-bees talk.”

Alas, Gwyneth blames the evils of the ether for some of the harder questions coming at her at a fast and furious pace. "The Internet is causing some of these conversations to happen earlier and earlier," Gwyneth said. "She was exposed to a little something — not anything too bad, thank goodness — but by a friend who has older brothers, and it's too early. She's only 9 and she's an innocent 9, so we haven't really gotten to it yet."

So just how does Gwyneth approach the tough stuff with her daughter? "I just say [to Apple], 'There are things on the Internet that are really upsetting and even as a grownup that are too upsetting for me,'" she said. "And if she has any questions please come to me and she'll never be in trouble, but that the Internet is not safe."

We have to wonder just how much of a struggle it is for celebs to keep their kids from seeing such revealing content on both the TV and the Internet. They all tend to live such transparent lives, expecially Gwyneth, whose affinity for putting her kids on diets and wearing some of the most questionable outfits on red carpets gets her constantly drilled by reporters.

How do you feel she handles these questions with Apple? How do you tackle these tough topics with your own kids? Tell us below!
