Gwyneth Paltrow Thinks Modeling Is “the Perfect Job” For Moms

Gwyneth Paltrow has decided to return to her former love. Don’t start those rumors just yet — she’s talking about modeling. In a recent interview with Women's Wear Daily, she dishes about how modeling is the best gig out there for moms like her. Hear that, moms? Time to get your head shots in order!

Back as the face of Hugo Boss’ perfume line, the superstar mom will be pushing a new fragrance, Boss Jour Pour Femme. While we think it would be challenging to find a ton of women who can relate to her life, this seems to be “all good” with Paltrow, who said, “I have had a really good experience working for Boss, and I always say this, but it really is such a perfect job when you have kids.”

We always say that too, when we’re turning down movie roles for modeling jobs, in order to better squeeze in our cookbook writing and website running, and you know, all that down-to-earth mothering. Jealous? Us? More than a little...

Paltrow adds, “I can only really do one film a year now because of my family and how it all works out, so it’s so nice for me to be able to work for a great company and, you know, I’m going to Spain next week for two days so I still get to travel and meet really interesting people and have a work interaction. But it’s not like I am out of the house for three months.”

Gwyneth goes on to describe her morning routine, which almost completely resembles ours, except that it seems completely devoid of any housework whatsoever.

“I wake up at 7 a.m., I get [the kids] fed, and I get them dressed in their uniforms, any bits of homework are finished,” Paltrow explained. “I take them to school. She [Apple] gets dropped off at 8:25 a.m., and he [Moses] gets dropped off at 8:45 a.m., so we have a croissant together in his school dining room and we do reading together. Then I go home and I work for one hour on all the emails that come in overnight from L.A. Then I exercise from about 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Then I work on Goop pretty much the rest of the day until I pick up my kids and then they have various activities.”

Phew, and we thought we had a lot going on! Well, we guess Gwyneth has so much on the rest of her plate, she clearly deserves this easy modeling assignment. Although it probably won’t work for most moms, we do say: It’s nice work if you can get it!
