Gwyneth Paltrow Thought Vaginal Steaming Was Insane Until She Tried It
We’re all well-versed in Gwyneth Paltrow’s bizarre “wellness” treatments, and her longtime love of vaginal steaming still ranks as one of her stranger habits.
Thankfully the GOOP mastermind has admitted she first thought cleansing her ladyparts with mugwort steam was just as crazy as everyone else still does.
“The first time I tried V-steaming, I was like, ‘This is insane,’” the 43-year-old told The Cut.
Gwyneth’s pal Ben took her to Tikkun Spa in Santa Monica, California to lose her vaginal steam virginity.
“I was like, ‘You are out of your f—king mind. What is this?’” she said of her first time. “But then by the end of it I was like, ‘This is so great.’”
It’s no surprise the Glee guest star became a convert since she has a tendency to fall for hip practices long before they’re trendy.
“When I started doing yoga 20 years ago, people thought I was super weird and didn’t know what I was doing,” she claimed. “It’s the same way with organic food or acupuncture… I kind of like being the guinea pig for it all.”
Although we all like to poke fun at the mom of two’s out-there health regimen, she revealed a shockingly emotional explanation for it, citing her late father, director Bruce Paltrow.
“When you lose a parent to cancer (and I had lost a cousin when I was very young) — you want to stave off illness,” she admitted. “You want to embrace life and prolong your life.”
With an outlook like that, Gwyneth Paltrow is going to outlive us all.
